In Tamil language, Kamba Ramayanam-The Epic written by Maharishi
Kambar, the significance of number five in five faced Lord Panchmukhi Hanuman
is beautifully narrated as follows:-
(1) The son of one of the five elements_वायु (Son of Wind – Pawan Tanay),
(2) Crossed one of the five elements_जल (Water – The Ocean),
(3) Through one of the five elements_आकाश (Sky),
(4) Meet daughter of one of the five elements_पृथ्वी (Daughter of Earth – Sita Devi),
(5) Burnt-out Lanka by one of the five elements_अग्नि (Fire).
